As a lifelong resident and dedicated public servant, Kevin has proven his commitment to the people of our community time and again. Since 2017, he has served on the City Council as a conservative leader, advocating for a smaller government footprint and keeping taxes low—values that align with our priorities.
Kevin isn’t just invested in the future of our city; he’s a part of it in a personal way. As the first mayoral candidate with children actively in our school system, he understands firsthand the needs of families in Prior Lake. The United States just went through one of the best decades in history for commercial real estate growth. Prior Lake did not participate in that growth like so many other surrounding areas in the Twin Cities metro. Prior Lake needs a mayor that understands small business owners and will bring true economic development to our community and downtown Main Street. While murals painted over old buildings the past 8 years look nice, we need a mayor that will help develop the downtown into its true potential. Kevin Burkart is the right choice for the next 4 years.
I am proud to say I have known Kevin Burkart for the past 10 years. Kevin is a conscientious, detail-oriented, future thinking leader, that I have had the great pleasure of working with on the City Council for the past 4 years. He brings with him the perspective of a business man who also understands his fiduciary responsibilities to the tax payers. I strongly encourage everyone to vote for him in the Mayoral race in November!

Kevin Burkart is most generous with his time, spirit, and knowledge. He has gone out of his way to include me in conversations, encourage deeper connection with the community, and empower me as an entrepreneur. We would be fortunate to have his relatable approach, business expertise, and local experience as Mayor of Prior Lake.
I sat down with Kevin for a couple hours and was blown away by his intellect, his resume and his fiscal conservatism. I was not going to vote for either candidate for mayor this cycle but by the end of our meeting I’m behind this gentleman! Thank you for your time Sir and all you have done for our community!
I endorse Kevin Burkart for Mayor. It means a lot to my family & I to put someone in office who is a life-long resident of Prior Lake and has kids currently attending our Prior Lake-Savage schools. I know he’s going to use all the same skills and talents that made him a successful small business owner to do great things for our city and community, while taking a fiscally responsible approach and not raising our taxes.
I have known Kevin my entire life and will be voting for him because he has great leadership experience outside of Prior Lake and is now raising his family in the community that built him. He knows the history of our roads, parks and city growth and will do what is best for our future. I have seen him connect with everyone he meets because he is kind and invested in their life, the way a neighbor should be. Because of his broad skillset and life experiences, he appeals to many people for his empathy and good leadership.
While the ever expanding Twin Cities metro is sprawling out, I have grown to appreciate the
small town feel of Prior Lake. I love the old lumberyard, the ice cream shop, the VFW and the brewery! I enjoy walking my dog through Lakefront park in all seasons, but particularly enjoy lightening bug season.
I have invested much time and effort in this community trying to keep the small town feel, and have supported many political candidates, in this endeavor, including the current mayor. Ironically, while many of the council candidates that I have supported have waffled on their promises, many traditional folks like me have grown to appreciate the pragmatic voice of Kevin Burkart who we did not initially support or vote for, has frequently been a better voice of reason on the city council than the candidates that we have supported!!
One of the issues that has concerned me is the current park experience, with unnecessarily closed restrooms at the Lakefront Pavilion, as well closure of the Pavilion itself! I feel that this user experience should be restored before we address further park development, and have discussed this issue at length with both candidates for mayor.
After deliberating with many local conservative stalwarts, and discussion with Kevin Burkart, I would like to urge you to consider joining me in giving Kevin, a responsible councilor, a chance at the helm of the city.

Kevin is the guy that will fight. He isn't going to sit back and wiggle around. He will not say soft statements only to go behind doors, hide in small groups of allies to make decisions affecting so many. He will state his opinion but more importantly holds a place for everyone to state their thoughts. He will circle back to those that are quiet to make sure everyone is heard.
Prior Lake will have a leader that doesn't hide in the shadows; Will have a leader helping make decisions that improve and liven up the community.
Most Important Prior Lake will continue to be the place so many desire to be.
